HazAdapt, Inc.
Recent changes by the incoming presidential administration have led to the removal of several federal government websites, including many focused on public health, safety, reproductive rights, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).
These changes have raised concerns about the accessibility of critical resources. While the White House has described this as part of a transition process, the timeline for restoration remains unclear. Some of these resources, previously used as sources or linked services in HazAdapt, may now result in broken or unavailable links.
At HazAdapt, our commitment to providing reliable, evidence-based emergency safety instructions is unwavering. Over the past six years, our dedicated team of public health, medical, hazard, and veterinary professionals has meticulously researched and compiled information from hundreds of credible sources. These include key government agencies such as the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and others.
Our expert hazard researchers transform this vast knowledge into essential, actionable guidance designed to be clear, accessible, and optimized for high-stress situations. Our instructions are written in plain language and suited for a third- to eighth-grade reading level, ensuring they are easy to understand and use. Moreover, our resources are available offline, so you can always access critical safety information, no matter the circumstances.
Safety information is a fundamental resource that must be available to everyone. We deeply appreciate the tireless efforts of emergency and public health professionals who have dedicated their careers to researching and sharing essential safety information. Your work forms the foundation of our society’s health and safety, and we are committed to standing by your side during this evolving situation.
At HazAdapt, we are committed to ensuring the public has reliable safety information to stay safe. We remain vigilant and proactive, adapting to changes in policies and resources to keep HazAdapt accurate and up-to-date. Thank you for your patience as we navigate these evolving circumstances together, building a more resilient and informed community
Where Does HazAdapt Stand with FEMA?
Since our founding in 2019, HazAdapt has collaborated with FEMA and all levels of government emergency management—local, county, and state—to support the American people before, during, and after disasters. While there’s no such thing as a “perfect disaster response,” there’s always room to improve our systems as we adapt to new challenges. We urge the government to honor its commitment to involving disaster response experts in shaping the critical decisions that will define our disaster resilience during this unprecedented era of challenges.
As the federal government goes through restructuring, HazAdapt remains dedicated to fostering resilience from the ground up. We will continue to partner with organizations that share our mission of helping everyone adapt to hazards and build a safer, more resilient future.
